Chun-Li (チュンリー) is a character in the Street Fighter series. She is the first female playable character to appear in a 1-on-1 fighting game. Introduced in Street Fighter II, Chun-Li was the only female character in the game, (as well as one of the youngest fighters to appear in Street Fighter II) and while not as physically powerful as the other characters, she was by far the quickest. Her most famous attack is the Hyakuretsukyaku (Hundred Rending Leg, commonly known as the Lightning Kick), where she repeatedly kicks her opponent from a tilted standing position with incredible speed.
Chun Li is one of the largest character in the game. Chun-Li has a good projectile that can be changed. The Kidoken can be changed into the EX version of it that can hit twice. Chun-Li has great range in many of her attacks and has one of the best multi-hitting moves in the game. Her Dair is unique and is mostly used as an aerial poker or a set up to combos. Her Uspecial has good distance vertical and horizontally.
However, Chun Li does have flaws. Unlike Ryu and Evil Ryu, Chun Li cant use her Side Special for recovery making her a target for edge-guarding and gimping. She also has problems with those with good camping abilities like Samus and Goku and those with disjointed hitboxes like Mr. Game & Watch.
Overall, Chun-Li is a glass cannon. Chun-Li has advantages and disadvantages against some characters but Chun-Li is considered to be a more balanced character then Ryu in some occasions.
